A correlative cross sectional study on Manas Prakriti and psychological parameters among young females

Background: Several scientific studies have documented the relationship among personality types, psychological traits and disorders. Manasika Prakṛiti, described in Ayurveda, is based on three qualities of mind i.e Satva, Raja Tama which determine namely, Satvika, Rajasika, Tamasika . Among these, Satvika individuals are less prone for disorders than Rajasika type. Few been conducted parameters Manas Prakriti, Thus it requires a large sample survey specifically Indian population to make conclusive statements. Aim Objective: To find an association between Prakriti Psychological parameter Stress, depression anxiety healthy females. Methods: A total 450 females (180 145 125 Prakriti) were selected from different department Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Assessment was done by using assessment inventory(MPAI) developed Aftab et.,al, 2018 stress, assessed Stress Scale, Beck depressions inventory II(BDI II) Sinha’s scale. Result: Significant difference found i.e. at faculty level(p<0.001). In all having very low level stress anxiety(63.4%, 34.4%) minimal depression(76.6%) while few mild depression(47.6%) severe anxiety(53.8%).Tamasika higher chances as compared other Prakriti.
